Last week, the Sotek team swapped screens for shotguns and rifles for a team-building day that was equal parts thrilling and educational. Bright and early at 7 AM, we loaded up the minibus and headed out to Paracombe Shooting Range, just outside Barnstaple, ready for a morning of marksmanship and friendly competition.

Getting Started

After setting up four .22 rifles, the team warmed up with some practice shots, finding their aim before stepping up to the bigger calibres. It was a hands-on way to kick off the day — and a perfect way to channel some friendly rivalry!

Highlights from the Range

The day offered plenty of excitement, including:

• Historic rifles from WWI & WWII, such as the M1 Garand and Mosin, giving the team a taste of military history
• Pump-action shotgun challenges with solid slugs, putting precision and control to the test
• Testing our in-house innovation — the very own .410 shotgun suppressor, designed and manufactured by Sotek engineers
• A competitive target shoot, where our newest apprentice, Ivo, took home first place! 🏆

Wrapping Up

After an action-packed morning, we returned to base and headed into Newton Abbot for some well-earned food and drinks. It was a fantastic opportunity to relax, swap stories from the range, and celebrate the day’s friendly competition. 🍔
